Laser Punch Operator (Day Shift)

About The Position

Operate TRUMPF Punch Laser, cutting sheet metal from 18ga to 11ga, into standard products to include all specials, small parts, and templates needed by production teams. Setup and maintain the tooling needed to complete work orders. Ensure material gauge and surface finish of all products reflect those called out on work orders, shop drawings, and applicable quality specifications. Enter completed quantities into the company data system. Label and stack finished goods for further processing. Operator may be asked to complete other fabrication duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of shop math, units of measurement, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, specs, diagrams, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience operating Sheet Metal Punches or similar CNC equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a technical school preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team
  • Read and understand Operation Manual relating to tool selection and machine routine maintenance
  • Set up and adjust tooling for any features called out on programs
  • Sharpen tooling using powered grinding equipment
  • Utilize machine computer to retrieve programs and load according to drawings and CAD/CAM files
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment
  • Accurately fill out and submit all paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned by management
