About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC laser cutting equipment and other fabrication machinery to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection. The Laser Operator will play a vital part in ensuring efficient production and adherence to safety standards within a dynamic industrial environment. This is for our weekend shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, and machining operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, stamping, and mechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for precise measurements.
  • Ability to operate various fabrication tools such as press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, plasma cutters, EDM machines, hand tools, and tooling equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, calibration, and maintenance of machinery.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and experience with quality inspection using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in machining tasks.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy machinery including forklifts and cranes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, including programming and troubleshooting to ensure accurate cuts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform CNC programming adjustments and optimize machine parameters for precision cutting.
  • Utilize various fabrication tools such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and welding equipment as needed.
  • Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain proper tooling setup and perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes safely within the manufacturing environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area to promote a safe workplace.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and fabrication projects to meet production deadlines.
