About The Position

PVS Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and technically sharp Laser Operator for their weekend shift. This role offers a unique schedule where employees work 36 hours (Friday-Sunday) but are paid for 40. The operator will be responsible for overseeing all laser cutting operations and maintenance during their shift, ensuring clean and accurate cuts, and maintaining equipment. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys having weekdays off, and wants to work with cutting-edge technology in a team-first environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating and maintaining laser cutting equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve production issues quickly and independently
• Strong eye for detail
• Ability to identify materials using mic readings and color codes
• Knowledge of ISO standards and company procedures
• Strong communication skills for effective shift handoffs and team coordination
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement
• Reliable, safety-focused, and a genuine team player
• Willingness to train and support less experienced operators
• Available and committed to a consistent Friday–Sunday schedule

Responsibilities

• Oversee all laser cutting operations and maintenance during your shift
• Perform daily tasks including checking and replacing filters and cylinders to keep equipment running at peak performance
• Troubleshoot production issues promptly and resolve them efficiently
• Identify and gauge various materials using mic readings and color codes
• Maintain equipment in top shape; report any issues with tools and nozzles immediately
• Ensure all paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and on time
• Communicate clearly during shift transitions to keep operations running smoothly
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe at all times
• Work collaboratively with other operators and train new team members as needed
• Follow all ISO standards and company procedures on every job
