About The Position

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Swing Shift Laser Operator position in Vancouver, WA. Our client is a well-established manufacturing company known for quality, precision, and a commitment to continuous improvement. They are looking for a dependable and experienced Laser Operator to join their team and support efficient production operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Experience with machine setup and first-article inspection strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and performing in-process quality inspections.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing and able to work swing shift and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting equipment to produce parts according to drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Perform machine setups and first-article inspections to ensure parts meet required specifications before beginning production runs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production documentation.
  • Prioritize work orders and coordinate with press brake and other production departments to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Perform in-process inspections using appropriate measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Accurately complete production logs, inspection records, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic equipment or production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including lubrication, filter changes, slag removal, and cleaning or inspection of laser optics.
  • Load and unload materials and finished parts safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with material handling, warehouse duties, and other production needs as required.
  • Train and assist other team members on proper equipment operation, procedures, and safety practices as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety procedures.
  • Promptly report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.
