About The Position

As a Laser Operator, you'll set up and operate laser equipment to produce high-quality metal parts. You'll work with raw steel, computer-controlled equipment, and production drawings to make sure parts are produced safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Requirements

Manufacturing experience, preferably in metal fabrication or laser operation
Mechanical aptitude and an interest in how machines work
Basic math skills
Ability to read a tape measure, blueprints, and process sheets in standard and metric measurements
Basic computer skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English
High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Set up and operate laser machinery using setup sheets, Kanban cards, and work instructions
Operate the laser computer and adjust machine settings as needed
Load raw steel and unload finished parts
Inspect materials and finished parts for quality
Count parts and verify quantities are accurate
Label completed jobs with the required production information
Report material shortages, quality concerns, and equipment problems to the Lead or Supervisor
Complete daily equipment checks and preventive maintenance logs
Complete required production and quality paperwork
Safely operate a hoist and manual pallet jack
Assist with steel room operations as needed
