Laser Operator
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator that is a dedicated, detail orientated and self-motivated. This position requires technical expertise in operating a Fiber Optic Laser and maintaining laser cutting equipment, along with a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in finished products. Responsibilities include setting up and calibrating laser machines, loading materials, and programming cutting parameters based on job requirements. The Laser Operator must monitor production processes, inspect finished products for defects, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal performance and efficiency. A brand new state of the art Laser is coming to Jensen in January 2026!!
Requirements
- Proficiency in setting up, programming, and operating laser cutting equipment is essential. Candidates should be familiar with CAD/CAM software for programming cutting paths and adjusting cutting parameters
- Ability to learn to troubleshoot issues with the laser
- Ability to read blueprints
- Solid computer skills
- Strong math skills (shop math)
- Ability to use a tape measure in both metric and inches/feet
- High mechanical aptitude
- Competence with basic hand tools
- Coordinated, with good fine motor skills and dexterity
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Must be highly motivated and well organized
- Able to communicate and work well with others
- Must be flexible to updated changes in production schedule
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Nice To Haves
- Crane and forklift experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Operate a Fiber Optic Laser with Automation
- Conduct laser material handling - Load & unload steel
- Assist in part break out
- Communicate Laser status to Production Planner & Supervisor
- Processing internal cut orders for manufacturing and engineering departments
- Work in a safe manner and enforce all safety policies
- Checking parts for quality and accuracy
- Assist other departments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
