About The Position

The Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC laser machines for metal fabrication. This role requires knowledge of CNC laser operation, including program retrieval, proper gases, nozzles, and lenses. The operator will also perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery. The position involves ensuring "0 defect" parts are produced by setting up fabrication machinery and other production necessities. Accuracy of work will be checked using blueprints and precision measuring tools, and work orders must be completed accurately with correct quantities of good and defective parts. The role requires working a regular schedule determined by supervisory management and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to setup and operate CNC laser machine
  • Knowledge and hands-on operation of CNC laser for metal fabrication including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, lenses, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication process and concepts.
  • Ability to use Direct read measuring devices required.
  • Ability to properly document paperwork.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Ear protection, steel toed boots, etc)

Nice To Haves

  • High School Degree or equivalent and/or related experience required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing engineering, fabrication management and/or operations of low and mid-sized volume metal fabrication preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication process and concepts.
  • Provide routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs to CNC laser machine.
  • Setup metal fabrication machinery and other production necessities to produce "0 defect" parts.
  • Check accuracy of work using blueprints and precision measuring tools.
  • Accurately complete work orders with correct quantities of good and defective parts.
  • Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
