About The Position

Join our Fabrication team as a Laser Operator on the Weekend Shift and help produce the components that become premium fitness equipment used around the world. This role involves working with technology, precision equipment, and manufacturing high-quality products. The company culture values putting customers first, teamwork, innovation, and perseverance. The Weekend Shift offers a three-day workweek (Friday-Sunday, 5:00 AM-5:30 PM), allowing for four days off each week, while working 36 hours and getting paid for 40. Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience, preferably in metal fabrication or laser operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Ability to read blueprints, process sheets, and tape measures in both standard and metric measurements.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using a calculator.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to operate computerized manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently reach, grasp tools and materials, and climb stairs as needed.
  • Safely operate hoists and manual pallet jacks.
  • Successfully complete a comprehensive vision examination as required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Safely set up and operate laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications and customer expectations.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust laser cutting equipment using setup sheets and Kanban cards.
  • Operate the laser control system and monitor machine performance.
  • Load raw steel into the laser and unload finished parts safely and efficiently.
  • Perform visual inspections of raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Read blueprints, process sheets, and work instructions to produce parts accurately.
  • Count finished parts to verify correct quantities.
  • Properly identify and tag completed jobs with required production information.
  • Report material shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and complete daily preventive maintenance (PM) logs.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
  • Safely operate hoists and manual pallet jacks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist with other fabrication activities as needed.
