About The Position

MLC Manufacturing is a growing sheet metal fabrication company in West Michigan specializing in precision laser cutting and metal processing. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team as a 2nd Shift Laser Operator. The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts efficiently and safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

Prior experience operating laser cutting equipment (Bystronic experience preferred)
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read work orders and part drawings
Strong attention to detail and quality
Good attendance and reliability are a must
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

Operate Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines, including systems with auto loaders
Load and unload raw sheet metal materials
Monitor machine performance to ensure optimal cutting quality and efficiency
Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain cut quality (speed, focus, gas, etc.)
Inspect finished parts for accuracy, burrs, and defects
Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on laser equipment
Remove cut parts from sheets and assist with breakout as needed
Sort, stack, and label finished parts according to job requirements
Manage scrap material and keep work area clean and organized
Work collaboratively with other operators to keep machines running efficiently
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
