About The Position

Cadrex is searching for a Laser Operator I to safely perform laser cutting for a variety of materials and other company requirements. This role involves performing typical laser cutting operations, selecting proper cutting programs and fixtures, and making proper set-ups for cutting operations. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area, performing quality inspections, identifying different types of materials, and demonstrating continuous improvement for safety and quality standards. The position requires meeting the site attendance policy and representing core values: Drive, Integrity, Growth, Respect, and Innovation. Assistance in other work areas may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
  • Handle fast-paced work
  • Demonstrate dependability with good attendance
  • Highschool Diploma

Responsibilities

  • Perform typical laser cutting operations
  • Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures
  • Make proper set-ups for cutting operations
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)
  • Identify different types of material – Aluminum, 5000 series Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Paint Grip, Galvanneal, and Galvanized
  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures
  • Meet the standards of the site attendance policy
  • Represent core values: Drive, Integrity, Growth, Respect, and Innovation
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned
