About The Position

We are looking for a Laser Etch/Engrave Operator at the Greenwood, Indiana location on a first-shift schedule. The operator sets up and operates a laser engraving machine to engrave or etch metal parts. The role also involves creating and maintaining laser engraving programs and electronic files, coordinating with Engineering to clarify information, and inspecting processed parts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Mathematical skills sufficient to work with units of measure, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and efficient laser engraving programs.
• Maintain and manage electronic files used for programming laser engraving equipment.
• Work directly with the Engineering Department to obtain accurate information and clarify ambiguities.
• Set up the laser engraving machine according to print specifications and work instructions to process parts.
• Perform quality checks using inspection gauges such as calipers, micrometers, squares, and height gauges.
