About The Position

Avalign is seeking a Laser Etch/Engrave Operator for its Greenwood, Indiana location on a first-shift schedule. The operator sets up and operates laser engraving equipment to engrave or etch metal parts, following print specifications and work instructions. The role creates and maintains laser engraving programs and related electronic files, works with Engineering to resolve ambiguities, and performs quality checks using inspection gauges. The position is suited to a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, learn manufacturing processes, communicate effectively, and collaborate across teams. The work takes place in a temperature-controlled environment. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Avalign conducts background, drug, education-verification, and reference checks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of related experience and/or training.
Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Mathematical ability to work with units of measure, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Ability to plan and execute plans across teams.
Reliable, cooperative, positive, and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Create accurate and efficient laser engraving programs.
Maintain and manage electronic files used for programming laser engraving equipment.
Work with the Engineering Department to obtain accurate information and clarify ambiguities.
Set up the laser engraving machine according to print specifications and work instructions to process parts.
Use inspection gauges such as calipers, micrometers, squares, and height gauges to perform quality checks.
