About The Position

Nightforce Optics is a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium sport optics products. We are seeking a Laser Engraving Technician to join our Materials team. This role supports manufacturing operations by helping ensure components are properly identified, production-ready, and aligned with Nightforce quality expectations. We are looking for someone who values accuracy, enjoys working with specialized equipment, and takes pride in contributing to the production of world-class optics. The Laser Engraver plays a vital role in ensuring our products are Rugged. Reliable. Repeatable. by performing all laser engraving on scope and product components from setup and calibration of laser equipment to final inspection, ensuring every piece meets our quality standards. This position requires a strong sense of spatial awareness and is perfect for someone who thrives on detail, creativity, and precision.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office and computer skills
  • Must be able to learn, understand and operate Laser Engraving software, understand the operation, and trouble shoot machines to keep them operating
  • Good spatial relationship understanding to ensure engraving is properly spaced
  • Knowledge and understanding of measuring techniques (Vernier Caliper, scale)
  • Attention to detail and quality oriented
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with high degree of accuracy, strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be Mathematically Inclined

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of programing experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the laser engraving equipment through utilizing operation manuals and work instructions
  • Accurately load and unload laser engraving machine. Monitor engraving during the laser process, making any adjustments necessary to ensure Nightforce quality standards
  • Inspect etched work for depth of etching, uniformity, and any defects, using vernier calipers, scales, calibrated microscopes, gauges, fingers, and magnifying lenses
  • Examine sketches, diagrams, samples, blueprints, and/or photographs to decide how designs should be etched, cut, or engraved onto scope parts
  • Work with other departments including R&D, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Production to ensure correct procedure
  • Engrave and print patterns, designs, etchings, trademarks, logos, and lettering onto flat or curved surfaces of a wide variety materials
  • Use computer software to design patterns for engraving
  • Print proofs and examine designs to verify accuracy of engraving, rework or work with other departments as needed
  • Present parts to Quality Assurance for First Article Buy-off, communicate any potential deficiencies or concerns
  • Track and monitor completed parts count to ensure accuracy
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Work closely with Research and Development on special projects, when needed
