About The Position

The Laser Cutting Technician sets up, operates, and maintains CNC laser cutting systems to transform raw metal sheets, tubing and structural shapes into high-precision components. This position reports to the Fabrication Supervisor and is located in our plant in Franklin, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification or trade school training in machining or metal fabrication is a plus.
Two (2+) years of hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment or working in a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude, computer literacy, and familiarity with CNC programming, nesting, and blueprint interpretation.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot failures and minimize downtime.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items, stand/walk for long periods.
Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Run CNC laser cutting machines, load cutting programs, and adjust parameters (like focus, speed, and assist gases) for different material types and thicknesses.
Stage, load, and unload raw sheet metal and finished parts safely using overhead cranes, forklifts, or vacuum lifts etc. Maintain and control inventory of raw material.
Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify correct dimensions. Identify and resolve basic equipment, material, or programming issues, and perform routine daily cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Maintain a clean work area following company safety rules while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
