About The Position

The Large Water Meter Specialist is responsible for the installation and repair of indoor/outdoor commercial and industrial size meters. This role involves installing, replacing, reading, testing, and repairing large commercial and industrial water meters ranging from 2" to 10". The specialist will utilize various tools and equipment, assist in maintaining inventory, and address customer complaints. Inspections and accuracy testing of meters are also key responsibilities. The role requires regular entry into confined spaces and may involve overtime.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Valid Ohio Driver's license with a safe driving record.
Drug screening required.
Knowledge of Confined Space Entry.
Knowledge of GIS.
Knowledge of City Works.
Knowledge of EPA guidelines.
Ability to follow safety standards.
Ability to interact with customers and various departments.
Demonstrate initiative.
Exercise basic judgement and logic.
Consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion.

Responsibilities

Installing, replacing, reading, testing and repairing large commercial and industrial water meters 2"-10".
Utilizing various tools and equipment such as basic hand tools, tape measures, grinders, saws, ventilators, tripods, pumps, gas monitors, and air-tools.
Assisting in maintaining inventory of meters of various sizes and repair parts.
Solving customer complaints.
Making inspections of meters to ensure they are functioning properly.
Assisting in testing large meters for accuracy.
Maintaining vehicle by replacing tools and parts needed to complete the job.
Informing supervisor of service and repairs needed on the vehicle.
Entering confined space areas on a regular basis to perform above duties.
