About The Position

This position profile outlines the responsibilities of a Large Format Print Production Operator, also referred to as an Administrator, Technical Support Production. The role involves operating high-end equipment for large format printing, including roll-fed presses, copiers, bindery, fulfillment, quality control, final checks, pickup/delivery, facility maintenance, and mailroom duties. This is an allocated position that requires approval from the Regional Director of Services and reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Assistant Site Manager. The operator is expected to follow Ricoh Service Excellence performance requirements and maintain a professional appearance and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Technical aptitude to learn the set-up (including the software controls) and operation of complex printing equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to use, calibrate and troubleshoot office and complex technical equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of three years in a roll-fed printing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high-end production equipment, such as roll-fed continuous production systems.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and ensure performance of equipment.
  • Prepare, inspect, compile, and assemble projects accurately and in a timely manner to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Meet deadlines by working at a quick and steady pace while maintaining quality and error-free work.
  • Achieve Time Productive statistics by meeting established facility standards.
  • Maintain all required reporting tools.
  • Calibrate equipment to produce likeness in color and quality matching originals.
  • Transfer files electronically by sending files from the network to color equipment.
  • Produce error-free work by demonstrating operational knowledge of duplication equipment.
  • Maximize print performance by simultaneously performing a minimum of two functions on print equipment.
  • Troubleshoot all hardware and software issues with equipment.
  • Maintain optimal machine performance by correcting simple machine problems (clearing jams, refilling toner, replacing machine oil, etc.) and understanding machine codes for reporting equipment failure.
  • Present a professional appearance to clients by dressing in professional attire according to company standards.
  • Maintain and order inventories of equipment parts in accordance with company guidelines and processes.
  • Meet company attendance standards by reporting to work punctually and working all scheduled hours and any required overtime.
  • Organize jobs by validating job name and number, reading instructions on the Job Request Form, and organizing supplies.
  • Perform a full range of servicing and repair service procedures including diagnostics, installation, removal, and retrofits on a core set of highly complex office products.
  • Demonstrate required digital competencies associated with assigned products and level assignments.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair or replace equipment components as necessary.
  • Complete technical training on new equipment as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
