About The Position

The Boeing Company's Global Services Engineering Capabilities organization is seeking an experienced leader to join their Oklahoma City, OK, location. This position is for a first-line Large Aircraft Spares Reachback and Structures engineering manager with direct reports performing engineering and technical activities to support BGS Spares Engineering. As an Engineering First-Line Leader, the candidate will lead engineers working closely with the Supply Chain Engineering organization and industry partners to develop safe, high-quality, and effective engineering solutions that meet relevant requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role
  • 1+ years of experience working with Mechanical or Structures related statements of work.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • Strong tactical decision-making ability
  • Ability to communicate with senior and executive leadership

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering, including drawing updates and 3D modeling tasks.
  • Effectively plans and executes statement of work (cost, schedule, technical, & safety).
  • Establish, track, and automate value-added metrics that help to effectively manage the business.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Establishes, develops, & maintains partnerships with team, customers, stakeholders, peers, & partners.
  • Effectively communicates with team, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor, motivate, and provide growth and development opportunities for team.
