Laptop & Computer Buyer
About The Position
A fast-growing consumer electronics and e-commerce company is seeking an experienced Laptop & Computer Buyer to take ownership of a growing product category. This is a high-impact buying role for someone who knows the computer market, knows the vendors, and knows how to find a deal. You'll own sourcing and purchasing across laptops, desktops, monitors, accessories, and related products while helping drive the continued growth and profitability of the category. The right candidate brings a strong network of manufacturers and distributors, understands the fast-moving economics of online retail, and can balance aggressive buying opportunities with smart inventory management. If you know where to buy, how to negotiate, and what will sell, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of a category with significant room to grow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of purchasing or buying experience within computers or consumer electronics
- Direct experience buying laptops, desktops, monitors, docks, accessories, or related computing products
- Strong existing relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and other sourcing channels
- Experience negotiating pricing, terms, rebates, inventory allocations, and promotional programs
- Strong understanding of high-volume e-commerce and marketplace retail
- Experience managing inventory, margins, pricing, and profitability
- Strong analytical and Excel skills with the ability to make decisions based on data
- A sharp eye for profitable buying opportunities and the confidence to move quickly when the right deal comes along
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with major PC brands and secondary or closeout sourcing is a strong plus
Responsibilities
- Own purchasing and assortment strategy across laptops, desktops, monitors, accessories, and related computer products
- Source products through manufacturers, authorized distributors, sub-distributors, and secondary channels
- Negotiate pricing, rebates, payment terms, marketing programs, and inventory allocations
- Identify closeouts, special buys, and other high-margin purchasing opportunities
- Build and strengthen relationships with key vendors and distribution partners
- Analyze sales trends, marketplace pricing, competition, and profitability to make smart buying decisions
- Manage inventory levels to maintain strong availability without creating excess or aging inventory
- Stay ahead of new product launches, market trends, pricing changes, and opportunities within the PC category
- Partner with pricing, marketing, marketplace, and operations teams to maximize product performance
- Identify new products and vendor opportunities that can drive profitable growth across online channels
