About The Position

The Elma School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Intervention Teacher to support K-8 students in developing strong mathematic skills. This role involves providing targeted math instruction and intervention services to students identified as needing additional support, collaboration with classroom teachers, and monitoring student progress to ensure academic success.

Requirements

Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Secondary Mathematics Endorsement
WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)
Student teaching or contracted teaching experience in a secondary setting
Background in supporting secondary math skill development
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Math, or a related field
Strong knowledge of math assessment tools and intervention strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with math instruction
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Nice To Haves

Experience designing and delivering math intervention and support
Skilled in data review and analysis for tracking student growth
Experienced in Co-Teaching Lessons
Strong pedagogical knowledge in content area
Able to design and run small group interventions

Responsibilities

Collaborate with staff and colleagues
Deliver small-group and one-on-one reading interventions to students across K-8 grade levels
Ability to guide instructional support staff in implementation of math instruction and oversee effectiveness
Use evidence-based instructional strategies and assessment tools to support student math development
Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff to identify students in need of math intervention and align instruction
Develop individualized intervention plans based on student data and progress monitoring
Track student achievement and maintain accurate records using school-wide data systems
Collect and analyze data in regular data cycles
Effectively utilize district technology appropriate to the position and assume responsibility for attending district training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities as directed by the supervisor
Effectively communicate with parents in a variety of ways
Comply with district rules and regulations
The safety and health of students and others are essential functions of this position
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
