About The Position

AoPS Academy is seeking passionate Language Arts Instructors for the academic year 2026-2027. This part-time, in-person role involves teaching advanced students in small class settings, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning. The instructor will use company-created curriculum, manage classrooms of up to 16 students, grade assignments, and build relationships with students and families. AoPS Academy is a year-round educational enrichment program that brings the AoPS methodology to live classrooms, offering a world-class curriculum in math, science, and language arts for students in grades 1-12.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
Experience teaching or tutoring students.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Candidates must be located in Austin, TX or the greater Houston area and must be able to commute to our campus.
Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.
A minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.

Nice To Haves

A Bachelor’s degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferred.
Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
