About The Position

The Universal Group, recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed companies, has exciting opportunities in their Traffic Control team. As a Lane Closure Technician (LCT), you will play an essential role in supporting the safety of fellow roadworkers, crews, and the public on the road. You will work to provide Peace of Mind to multiple parties by safely and effectively controlling traffic.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of BC LCT experience.
• Current TCP certification recognized by WorkSafeBC or equivalent provincial regulator.
• Drivers License with a clean driving record.
• Possession of and ability to use a smartphone with a data plan.
• Available to work Monday-Friday for different shift times.
• Comfortable with the physical demands of the LCT role, including but not limited to: Lifting up to 30 lbs, Standing for long periods of time uninterrupted, Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• The ability to navigate a mobile dispatch app.

Responsibilities

• Safely setting up and tearing down worksites.
• Protecting your team and clients with safety at the forefront all the time.
• Directing other TCP’s on-site.
• Filling out and signing off on pre-job paperwork, including FLRA’s and TMP’s.
• Communicating clearly with drivers, crews on-site and fellow traffic control personnel.
