About The Position

VGS, Inc. is seeking a Landscaping Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure quality standards, and manage staff. This role involves a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks, including trash collection, equipment maintenance, groundskeeping, and snow removal. The supervisor will be responsible for scheduling staff, maintaining supplies, resolving worker issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule, but requires willingness to work overtime, including early mornings during winter months for snow removal.

Requirements

Experience using the following equipment: Tractor Plow, Zero turn (stand and sit), Riding mower, Ground sweeper, Bob cats/Golf carts, Salt spreaders, Salt trucks (F250), Weed whackers, blowers, trimmers, edgers, Power washer.
Must have a valid Driver's License with no more than 4 points.
Must have a clean criminal background check.
Must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

One year of custodial or lawn care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Schedule staff and assure adequate coverage for site duties.
Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
Use the correct step-by-step procedure for each cleaning task.
Follow manufacturer's recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
Assign tasks to workers and inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
Maintain, order, and issue supplies and equipment, including inventory of needed supplies.
Maintain all equipment, supplies, or supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
Resolve workers' problems or refer matters to Area Manager.
Submit requests for repair of equipment to Area Manager.
Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
Interact with fellow employees and public caretaker in a courteous and friendly manner.
Contribute information for employees' annual reviews as requested.
Perform and complete payroll as required.
Assist in performing duties of workers supervised.
Collect trash around both hospitals daily.
Collect trash from parking lots, grass areas, flower beds, and fence lines.
Perform preventive maintenance of all equipment, including fueling, greasing, and cleaning salt spreaders.
Keep the garage clean and free of trash.
Keep salt bins around both hospitals filled during inclement weather.
Clean the back dock area around the main hospital and trash compactor.
Keep bushes and fence lines trimmed.
Keep all cemeteries mowed and free of debris/trash.
Check for ice around both hospitals and salt as needed during inclement weather, including ramps, stairs, sidewalks, courtyards, and parking lots.
Be onsite at 4 am for snow removal during inclement weather (heavy snowfall).
Perform mowing and leaf removal during spring, summer, and fall.
Power wash walkways and sidewalks.
