About The Position

Under the supervision of the Landscaping Foreman, performs landscaping tasks necessary to meet contract specifications. This position requires the employee to successfully complete a criminal history information background check and drug screening, and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in landscape maintenance work including experience in mowing with push mower and weeding.
Must be able to work independently.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating riding mowers
Experience with snow blowers, roto tillers, tractors with attachments (mowers, lime or fertilizer spreaders, lawn roller)
Experience with chain saws, hedge trimmers and other hand held power operated tools

Responsibilities

Cuts lawns, using hand mower or power mower
Trims and edges around walks, flower beds and walls, using clippers and edging tools
Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears
Rakes leaves and cleans or sweeps up litter using spiked stick or broom
Shovels snow from walks and driveways
Spreads salt on public passage ways
Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs
Waters lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler system
Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts, using shovel and rake
May operate walking type power mowers, snow blowers, roto tillers or riding mowers
May operate chain saws, hedge trimmers and other hand held power operated tools to prune, cultivate, shovel, trim, cut and dig
May use tractor equipped with attachments, such as mowers, lime or fertilizer spreaders and lawn roller
Performs a variety of laboring duties when yard work is completed
Performs other duties as assigned
