About The Position

This position is for a Landscaping Laborer at Fort Jackson Grounds, working the 8:00 am - 4:00 pm shift. If you enjoy working outside and staying active, this job is for you. We’re looking for reliable people to join our Landscaping Laborer team. You don’t need any experience—we’ll teach you everything you need to know, like how to mow lawns, trim bushes, and spread mulch. Just bring a good attitude and be ready to learn.

Requirements

No landscaping experience required — full training is provided.
Willingness to learn how to safely use landscaping tools and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely around equipment and outdoor environments.
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate respectfully with coworkers and supervisors.
Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Attention to detail when completing tasks such as debris removal, edging, or cleanup.
Valid Real ID
Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Responsibilities

Check in with supervisor and team members at the start of the day.
Review the day’s assignments and load the truck with necessary tools and equipment.
Mow large lawn areas, edge sidewalks and driveways, and trim around trees, fences, and other hard-to-reach spots.
Perform landscaping tasks such as weeding flowerbeds, pruning shrubs and small trees, laying mulch, or planting seasonal flowers.
Blow off walkways, clear debris, and ensure the job site looks polished upon completion.
Reload tools, clean up the work area, and communicate any site notes or equipment issues to the crew leader.
Assist with unloading, cleaning, and prepping for the next day upon returning to the office.
