Landscaper
About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining landscapes across various areas including a golf course, club amenities, residential homes, and common areas. The landscaper will perform tasks such as weeding, mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, and raking. They will also be involved in the installation of new landscape plantings and annual color, as well as watering and maintaining these new and annual plantings. The position requires participation in leaf removal during dormant seasons and a basic understanding of chemical and fertilizer applications. Safe operation of hand tools and various landscape machinery is essential. The landscaper will maintain orderly work areas, assist with landscape projects, and participate in the daily setup and closing of departmental tools and equipment. Reporting safety or maintenance issues to the Landscape Manager/Horticulturist and attending department meetings and trainings are also part of the role. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in landscaping, preferably within a residential or hospitality environment.
- Ability to operate landscape machinery such as push rotary mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, utility vehicles, and riding mowers.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles properly and safely.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities
- Maintain landscapes throughout golf course, club amenities, residential homes and common areas to include but not limited to weeding, lawn mowing, and string trimming, edging, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, and raking.
- Install new landscape plantings and annual color (spring and fall) at residential homes, on the golf course, and around the club.
- Water and maintain new plantings as well as annual plantings.
- Participate in leaf removal during dormant seasons, as needed, throughout property.
- Safe operation of all hand tools, large and small equipment such as push mowers, zero turn mowers, skid steer, tractors and mini-excavator.
- Keep all work areas orderly and neat.
- Assist with landscape projects as requested.
- Participate in daily set-up/closing of the departments’ tools and equipment.
- Report any safety or maintenance issues immediately to the Landscape Manager/Horticulturist.
- Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
- Any other duties as assigned.
