About The Position

This position is part of our Grounds team working as an onsite employee. The role assists the Turf and Landscape Lead in managing landscapers who maintain campus landscape, turf, irrigation, and snow/ice programs. This person will help develop and implement the IPM program on campus. Primary responsibilities revolve around the installation, care, and maintenance of the Testing Engineering test plots and main campus landscape management.

Requirements

A Position to assist the Turf and Landscape Lead manage landscapers maintaining campus landscape, turf, irrigation, and snow/ice programs.
This person will help develop and implement the IPM program on campus.
The individual typically performs a variety of other tasks, which may include any combination of the following: string trimming, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, snow and ice removal, sprinkler installation, irrigation; as well as managing multiple individuals to perform detailed tasks to accomplish desired results.
Primary responsibilities revolve around the installation, care, and maintenance of the Testing Engineering test plots and main campus landscape management.

Responsibilities

Irrigation products, procedures, maintenance, and scheduling
Provide support for LTL (Landscape & Turf Lead) including the installation crew members, and other assigned staff members.
Assists in the coordination of projects with outside contractors and companies.
Assist and lead in basic landscaping tasks for campus grounds management (mowing, string trimming, blowing, shoveling. etc.)
Supervise a crew in the maintenance of grounds, landscape, and irrigation activities.
Monitor work of subordinates.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations.
Manage work sites for campus projects as directed.
Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
Snow and ice management, as well as managing personnel to complete objectives.
Spreading of material, shoveling, operation of powered walk equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Cultivate lawns, turf, or gardens, decorate gardens.
Maintain equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning, by directing and leading.
