About The Position
The Landscape Operations department within University Operations is seeking a Landscaper I to support the maintenance and appearance of campus grounds. This role is responsible for a variety of landscape maintenance tasks, with responsibilities subject to change based on operational needs.
Requirements
- Completion of 9th grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
- Valid class E driver’s license.
- May be required to participate in respiratory, medical examination and training in use of respirators.
- Must reside in Florida as of the date the employment begins.
Nice To Haves
- Perform landscape maintenance duties including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, mulching, and hand weeding of landscape beds in assigned zones.
- Operates hand tools and landscaping equipment as needed.
- Identifies and reports pest or disease issues in accordance with the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan.
- Support general campus upkeep, including raking, trash collection and removal, and other related activities.
- Assist with special tasks such as hauling fill dirt and debris, and watering trees and turf in non-irrigated areas.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and checking fluid levels; report equipment repair needs to the supervisor.
