About The Position

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of park grounds, athletic fields, landscaping, and open spaces. Operates a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles in the operation, repair, and maintenance of City parks, beaches, athletic fields, and/or open spaces. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Some experience in parks, grounds, and/or facility maintenance
Valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record
Must have or be able to obtain first aide, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
Must be able to perform each of the established essential functions.

Nice To Haves

Certified Arborist
Commercial Landscape Maintenance Applicator
Ornamental and/or Certified Horticulture Professional designations preferred
May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
