About The Position

This position is the individual on staff of the Canaveral Port Authority who is responsible for maintaining Port Authority grounds. This position reports directly to the Manager Landscape and Small Projects but will take direction from the Landscape Lead. Essential Functions: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, preservation and appearance of the grounds, pier and equipment of the Port Operate CPA machinery including tractors, mowers and trucks Responsible for care and maintenance of Port-owned irrigation systems Perform other duties as assigned During emergency conditions, all CPA employees are automatically considered essential employees and may be subject to recall. These events may include, but are not limited to, natural, man-made, or public health emergencies. Employees may be expected to perform emergency and/or recovery operations outside of their normal assigned responsibilities and routine working hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have one (1) year experience in commercial landscaping
• Experience operating heavy machinery (mowers, tractors, lifts)
• Must have superior attendance
• Must be a team player able to perform in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and a self-starter
• Must possess excellent customer service focus and superior communication skills
• Valid Florida Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days
• Must be able to secure a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) to obtain access to restricted facility areas
