About The Position

Avila Golf & Country Club, one of Tampa’s premier private country clubs, is looking for a Landscape Manager to join our team! This hands-on leadership role is responsible for maintaining the landscape beds and select turf areas throughout the golf course. The ideal candidate has experience in landscaping, horticulture, or golf course maintenance, takes pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces, and understands the importance of safety, organization, and attention to detail. Requirements

  • Current Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification/license or the ability to obtain one
  • Previous landscape or golf course maintenance experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of horticulture, landscaping practices, tools, and equipment
  • Comfortable working independently while following direction
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a small team is a plus
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
  • Frequently stand, bend, kneel, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday

Responsibilities

  • Maintain landscape beds and select turf areas throughout the golf course
  • Apply fertilizers and pesticides according to established guidelines
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as trimmers, weed eaters, chainsaws, rotary mowers, and sod cutters
  • Use hand tools including shovels, pruners, trimmers, and hand saws
  • Operate golf carts, small tractors, and other small gas-powered vehicles
  • Keep landscape beds clean, weed-free, and professionally maintained
  • Perform routine trimming and pruning to maintain a neat, organized appearance
  • Conduct safety inspections of spraying equipment
  • Maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate MSDS/SDS records for chemicals and fertilizers
  • Help train landscape staff on department procedures and responsibilities
  • Supervise small crews of one or more employees as assigned
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Support daily operations needed to maintain championship-caliber golf course conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
