Landscape Maintenance Technician
About The Position
This position is responsible for the curb appeal and beautification of the landscape, along with common-area janitorial duties, at an 181-space manufactured home community and adjacent ranch property in Oxnard, California. Duties are assigned under the direct supervision of the Community Manager and Maintenance Manager. The position includes common-area maintenance and janitorial work, minor painting, gardening and landscaping, irrigation repairs, basic pool maintenance, and accurate recordkeeping of work performed, as well as similar duties as needed. The Star Companies is a family-owned and operated firm founded in 1958 that specializes in the manufactured housing industry and operates communities in California, Colorado, Idaho, and Nevada. The role requires physical activity including bending, stooping, walking, and climbing ladders for 90% of a typical workday, and lifting and reaching for boxes and maintenance supplies weighing 30 pounds or more. The technician must safely use common hand and power tools and log maintenance records using a computer or app. The schedule is Monday through Saturday, 48 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $20–$23. Applicants must pass a seven-year background check; any job offer will be based on screening results.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, at minimum.
- At least one year of recent experience in property management or apartment/residential maintenance.
- Possess a valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Have a good work ethic and uphold the company values.
- Be customer-service oriented.
- Carry out assignments with minimal supervision.
- Resolve challenges logically and know when to refer complex issues to a higher level.
- Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Be punctual, neat, and efficient.
- Be able to bend, stoop, walk, and climb ladders for 90% of a typical workday.
- Be able to bend, lift, and reach boxes and maintenance supplies weighing 30 pounds or more.
- Safely use tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, drills, and saws.
- Log maintenance records using a computer or app.
- Pass a seven-year background check; any job offer is based on the results of background screening.

- Mobile home park experience is a plus.
- Basic skills using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
