About The Position

The Landscape Install 10-12-week paid internship program offers a hands-on, well-rounded experience that provides insight into every aspect of branch operations. It is designed for motivated, driven individuals who are eager to learn, take initiative, and make a meaningful impact as part of a collaborative team. This internship is ideal for those passionate about the commercial landscape industry, who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are looking for an opportunity to gain real-world experience. The program builds practical skills, expands industry knowledge, and provides exposure to day-to-day operations through meaningful projects, laying a strong foundation for career exploration after graduation. This is a field-focused program that builds knowledge of field operations to prepare for a successful career in the commercial landscape industry. The schedule will be customized based on various roles and specific projects, with a significant portion of the program spent outside.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, Agribusiness, Business Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
• Interest in working in a team-oriented, customer-focused industry with a willingness to support a variety of operational needs
• Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of routine job duties
• Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in multiple areas of field operations, working alongside crews and developing a comprehensive understanding of landscape production and branch operations.
• Gain exposure to key areas of the business by observing and engaging with teams involved in Project Management, Estimating, Sales, and Operations to gain a deeper understanding of daily workflows and responsibilities.
• Work alongside an experienced mentor who will guide progress, offer regular feedback, and support professional development throughout the internship.
• Gain exposure to team building, professional etiquette, communication, leadership, and management best practices.
• Contribute to meaningful projects while working alongside skilled professionals and fellow interns, fostering teamwork and shared learning.
• Build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders within the organization, expanding professional network and industry connections.
• Gain further training in the department of choice at the end of the program.
• Present internship experience at the end of the program, highlighting key field experiences, projects, lessons learned, skills developed, and contributions to Ruppert’s culture and values.
