About The Position

Ruppert Landscape is seeking motivated and driven individuals for their 10-12-week paid Landscape Install Internship program. This program offers a hands-on, well-rounded experience providing insight into every aspect of branch operations. The internship is field-focused, building knowledge of field operations to prepare for a successful career in the commercial landscape industry. Interns will gain practical skills, expand industry knowledge, and get exposure to day-to-day operations through meaningful projects. The schedule will be customized based on various roles and specific projects, with a significant portion of the program spent outdoors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, Agribusiness, Business Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
  • Interest in working in a team-oriented, customer-focused industry with a willingness to support a variety of operational needs
  • Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of routine job duties
  • Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in multiple areas of field operations, working alongside crews and developing a comprehensive understanding of landscape production and branch operations.
  • Observe and engage with teams involved in Project Management, Estimating, Sales, and Operations to gain a deeper understanding of daily workflows and responsibilities.
  • Work alongside an experienced mentor for guidance, regular feedback, and professional development support.
  • Gain exposure to team building, professional etiquette, communication, leadership, and management best practices.
  • Contribute to meaningful projects while working alongside skilled professionals and fellow interns.
  • Build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders within the organization.
  • Gain further training in a department of choice at the end of the program.
  • Present internship experience at the end of the program, highlighting key field experiences, projects, lessons learned, skills developed, and contributions to Ruppert’s culture and values.
