About The Position

Abbruzzese Brothers, Inc is a full-service residential and commercial landscape & hardscape company focused on quality installations and great client service. We’re hiring a hands-on Landscape/Hardscape Supervisor to lead crews on-site, perform and oversee installations (pavers, retaining walls, patios, grading, drainage, planting), ensure quality and safety, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. This role is primarily field-based and requires both supervisory ability and regular physical participation in installations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in landscape and hardscape installation; prior supervising or lead role preferred.
  • Proven skills with pavers, segmental retaining walls, site grading, drainage, planting, and sod.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, perform layout, and use basic layout tools (stringline, transit/laser, levels).
  • Plant material identification skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Physically capable of heavy outdoor work in varied weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices and willingness to enforce them.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in landscape construction.
  • Experience operating light/heavy equipment (skid steer, mini-excavator).
  • Basic estimating or project documentation experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and work alongside crews during landscape and hardscape installations.
  • Read and interpret plans, set layouts, and ensure installations match drawings and specifications.
  • Install and troubleshoot pavers, retaining walls, patios, steps, grading, and drainage systems; plant trees/shrubs and install sod when required.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors; ensure timely deliveries and proper staging.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules; track labor, materials, and daily job progress; report status to project management.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site; lead toolbox talks and incident reporting.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members; provide hands-on instruction and quality checks.
  • Prepare simple change order estimates and communicate scope changes to management and clients.
  • Perform physical labor as needed and step in to complete tasks during tight schedules.
