About The Position

Rutheo Designs is seeking a Landscape & Garden Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. This role focuses on restoring Seattle’s landscapes and urban ecosystems through habitat restoration, edible gardens, and ecological services. The technician will work with a small crew to maintain established landscapes, implement seasonal improvements, and collaborate with a crew lead and project manager. Occasional client interaction is also part of the role. The ideal candidate can explain ecological gardening practices and enjoys discussing these topics with clients.

Requirements

• 1-5+ years experience in landscape maintenance & experience with native plants and ecology-related studies.
• Ability to lift 50–80 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills.
• English fluency.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license preferred.
• Smartphone capable of running scheduling/time tracking apps.
• Minimum 1-5+ years experience in residential landscape maintenance & experience with native plants and ecology-related studies.
• Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Has an eye for detail and takes pride in quality work.
• Is dependable and shows up ready to work.
• Is interested in plants, gardening, or ecological landscaping.
• Works well with a team.

• Lawn mowing and edging.

• Previous landscape or lawn care experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on site prepared and ready to work each day.
• Perform landscape maintenance tasks & routes as directed by the Crew Lead.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and quality.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors about work progress or concerns.
• Remain engaged in work duties during scheduled shifts.
• Treat coworkers and clients with courtesy and respect.
• Must wear a work uniform each day (sturdy shoes/boots, long pants, and reasonably clean company shirt/sweatshirt).
• Perform scheduled maintenance routes and activities, staying on track and on time for each job.
• Lawn care and garden maintenance.
• Plant care and pruning.
• Weeding and invasive plant removal.
• Soil improvement and mulching.
• Seasonal planting.
• Basic irrigation checks and adjustments.
• Supporting habitat-friendly landscape management practices.
