Requirements

4+ years of professional experience in farming, gardening, horticulture, landscape maintenance, or a related field
Strong experience maintaining edible gardens and landscapes
Knowledge of ornamental, native, and edible plants, fruit trees, and common pest and plant health issues
Experience troubleshooting garden, plant health, and irrigation problems in the field
Experience leading, training, or providing hands-on guidance to other team members
Able to plan and prioritize field work while maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency
Friendly and professional when communicating with clients, coworkers, and managers
Organized, reliable, and able to take initiative and communicate when additional support is needed
Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

Lead and work with the team to maintain, gardens, and landscapes throughout the Bay Area
Plant, prune, weed, water, harvest, and care for plants, soil, and fruit trees
Find and fix common pest and plant issues
Program various irrigation timers and provide irrigation troubleshooting
Implement seasonal planting, crop rotation, and harvests
Plan daily work, assign tasks, and help the team complete quality work on time
Keep clear notes and tell the manager about site problems, supply needs, and work still needed
Keep tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean and safe; drive between project sites and supply vendors (valid driver’s license required)
