About The Position

The Associate Landscape Designer role is a continuing developmental position that performs standard techniques and procedures and applies knowledge of established methods, practices, and programs. The Associate Landscape Designer relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while working within a limited scope and under general supervision. This position assists with generating ideas and creating designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve design needs and bring landscape visions to life.

  • A minimum of one year of landscape architecture experience.
  • Experience with design-based software (CAD, GIS)

  • Has the ability to diligently research applicable requirements and regulations.
  • Has advanced mathematical and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides small scale design elements for landscape architecture projects using fundamental knowledge, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects.
  • Performs basic plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks.
  • Develops and applies knowledge and experience working within design and modeling software.
  • Assists with preparation of project documentation and schedules and performs design calculations within a limited scope.
  • Coordinates with experienced landscape architects and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures.
  • Gathers research, recommends solutions, and creates drafts of technical reports using prescribed methods.
  • Mentors student interns by providing opportunities for developing basic technical skills and knowledge.
  • Gains experience with creating and maintaining project and client information within the firm’s project management system.
  • May supervise student staff.
  • May travel and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions at project sites in various stages of construction.
