About The Position

Join WithersRavenel as a Landscape Designer III and play a key role in shaping the communities where we live and work. As part of our Design + Planning Team in Charlotte, you’ll work closely with Landscape Architects, Project Managers, and Professional Engineers to lead design efforts, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver high-quality, documentable design solutions. This role is ideal for experienced designers or emerging licensed professionals who are ready to take on greater responsibility, contribute to project leadership, and continue progressing in their professional development. Gain hands-on experience leading landscape architecture projects from concept through construction. Strengthen technical and creative expertise through advanced design production, graphics, and visualization. Collaborate with experienced professionals while taking on increased ownership of project deliverables. Play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to project success. Hybrid schedule - about 3–4 days a week in the office.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited school, or equivalent experience
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil3D, Geopak, and/or related technical software
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Proficiency in SketchUp or other modeling software
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong understanding of site design, grading, planting, and construction documentation
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, including presenting to teams and clients
  • Experience in hand-graphics and rendering
  • Willingness to take direction and learn software applications

Nice To Haves

  • Progress toward or attainment of Landscape Architecture licensure
  • Experience leading portions of projects or client interactions
  • Experience with hand graphics and advanced rendering techniques
