About The Position

SavATree's landscape technicians are responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring that landscapes are visually appealing, healthy, and environmentally sustainable. They use their knowledge of aesthetics to creatively design gardens, walkways, sitting areas, bridges, and other functional aspects of outdoor areas. Duties can include making sure plants grow well in their assigned area as well as cleaning up debris around yards and other areas. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work outside on beautiful properties in your community. You will apply your expertise to ensure the on-going health, beauty, and well-being of each client’s landscape. This role will have seasonally shifting responsibilities, ensuring trucks, crews, and equipment are properly organized and trained throughout the year.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Turf, Entomology, Plant Sciences, Horticulture, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in lawn care maintenance and turf application
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a landscape-related field
  • Must be able to operate equipment safely.
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Horticulture/Arboriculture Trade Certification
  • Knowledge of plants, trees, and grasses in growing, pruning, and fertilizing shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees, and flowers
  • The ability to run various types of equipment, who enjoys heavy lifting in various weather conditions.
  • The responsibility and independence to work autonomously.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills to understand and meet client needs.
  • A desire to grow, craves opportunity, loves problem solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the takedown, organization, and storage of all holiday décor projects during winter.
  • Prepare trucks, equipment, and shop for planting and landscape services in the spring.
  • Manage the nursery and planting materials while assisting with landscape operations during the summer.
  • Set up décor trucks, prepare tools for installs, and oversee quality holiday décor installations, including training new installers in late summer/fall.
  • Travel to other branches within our district as needed to assist with projects or train with other crews.
