About The Position

The Landscape Crew Lead maintains property grounds while leading a team in routine landscaping tasks using standardized industry procedures. The role coordinates crew work, tracks labor time, communicates performance updates, and supports safe, efficient service delivery. It also involves broad groundskeeping duties, including landscape and plant maintenance, equipment upkeep, site cleaning, and seasonal snow and ice removal. No prior experience or diploma is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.
• No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Communicate work assignments to crew members.
• Ensure service expectations are met according to the work schedule.
• Report crew labor time.
• Guide team members according to training and safety requirements.
• Provide the leader with updates regarding crew performance.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
• Maintain property grounds.
• Ensure proper maintenance of mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems.
• Remove, install, and maintain plant material in beds and containers, and perform manual weeding.
• Perform landscape maintenance, including leaf removal, shrub and tree pruning, fertilizing, lawn care, and watering.
• Assist in tree relocation.
• Remove litter and empty trash cans.
• Clean roads, parking lots, and walks to ensure pedestrian and vehicle safety.
• Perform basic carpentry and painting tasks.
• Remove ice and snow from walks, roads, and lots, including applying ice melter and road sand.
• Establish new plants and plantings in landscapes and through greenhouse culture.
• Use manual and automatic watering systems to ensure adequate moisture for plantings.
• Perform equipment safety checks and recommend preventative maintenance as required.
• Maintain safe work areas during and after projects.
• Clean spills as needed, including body fluids.
