About The Position

Responsible for managing solicitations and cooperative contracts for the landscape management of all county properties. This role involves managing all landscape-related contracts, including development, negotiation, renewals, compliance oversight, vendor performance, and budgeting. It also includes coordinating procurement activities, meetings, evaluations, and collaborating with leadership, auditors, and legal/procurement staff. The position conducts landscape and irrigation inspections, oversees irrigation scheduling and repairs, supports landscape and irrigation design for new facilities, and manages tree care programs, pest/disease management, and treatment decisions. The role supervises landscape projects and staff, manages Courthouse grounds operations, and ensures the quality of contractor-delivered services. Additionally, the Landscape Contract Manager assists with annual budgeting, special assignments, and required meetings and trainings, and performs special duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Forestry, Park & Recreation, Botany, Agronomy or related field and five (5) years of contract development, contract administration, or contract management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of business administration and accounting principles and practices.
  • Valid driver’s license (Required within thirty (30) days of employment).
  • Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) (Required within one (1) year of employment).
  • Non-commercial pesticide applicator’s license (Required within one (1) year of employment).

  • Working knowledge of plant material, insects, diseases, weed identification and irrigation systems preferred.

Responsibilities
