About The Position

LHB has an immediate opportunity for a Landscape Architectural Designer to join our team. The position is based out of our Minneapolis, MN office. The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: Collaborate in designing diverse public and private spaces at a variety of scales. Assist in preparing construction document sets including site plans, landscape plans, grading plans, and details, as well as written specifications. Prepare graphics, illustrations, digital presentations, reports, and other presentation materials. Assist in preparing material take-offs and cost estimates. Research codes, products, and materials for projects. Assist in preparing LEED/B3/SITES documentation. Attend and assist in the preparation of client meetings and public engagement workshops (some meetings occur during evening or (more rarely) weekend hours). Participate in project design in a support role. Assist with construction observation and related construction administration duties. Assist with entitlement processes and obtaining regulatory approvals, including zoning permits, historic preservation, and environmental documentation.

Requirements

  • Professional LAAB-accredited degree in Landscape Architecture (master’s degree preferred)
  • 0-4 years of professional experience in the Landscape Architecture field
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in an A/E consulting firm setting desired
  • Well-developed organizational skills with particular attention to detail
  • Ability to be self-directed and proactive
  • Experience with community engagement and master planning processes
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and SketchUp. Experience in Revit or Rhino is a plus.
  • Professional verbal communication and writing skills
  • Demonstrated exceptional design and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable design strategies
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented atmosphere
  • Interest in equity, resiliency, and sustainability
  • Proficiency in generating ideas through hand drawing
  • Comprehension of grading and other technical skills
