About The Position

This position works primarily in the gatehouse at the Sandpoint Landfill located twelve miles east of Carlsbad on Highway 62/180. The gate keeper duties are answering phone calls and direct public to proper source of information, be the initial point of contact for the public at the landfill, maintain all records required for the operation and compliance of the landfill, operate scales and generate accurate scale tickets, receive and account for payments of tipping fees, reconcile employee records, timesheets, purchase orders, work schedules, inventory control, and deposits. Employee will compose memos, directives and letters as required to maintain clean and safe working conditions that include cleaning of the gatehouse. Work is primarily done alone, sometimes with but usually without directions. Employee works as part of a select team, although not always physically present with the members of that team. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. The Road Manager Carlsbad, Road Manager Artesia, and Sandpoint Landfill Manager all have equal authority to direct your work schedule at any time.
