Wood is seeking a Land Surveyor in Sheridan, WY. This role will manage field survey crew chiefs for conventional construction staking projects. Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. This position oversees all survey personnel and survey-related activities throughout the assigned region. The Land Surveyor prepares finish grade surface models per construction plans using engineer CAD files and directs survey and GPS technicians on daily tasks including topographic surveys, as-built surveys, construction layout, and general GPS technician duties as requested by Project Managers and Site Managers. The role involves consulting with Project Managers, Site Managers, and Superintendents periodically and attending operations and scheduling meetings as necessary. Additionally, the Land Surveyor prepares, loads, and manages Trimble and Topcon Machine Grade Control files for all GPS equipment (dozers, scrapers, base stations, and rovers), ensuring copies are maintained on Wood's corporate server. They also oversee Surveyors and Survey technicians to ensure duties are performed according to Wood's standard GPS Operations and Procedures and maintain an inventory of all GPS equipment, transits, levels, lasers, tripods, and leveling rods.
