About The Position

Cardinal is seeking an LSIT to join our dynamic and growing team. As an LSIT, you will be responsible for proper scheduling, budget, contract, and client interaction for all projects in your service area. You will assist the LS in overseeing the production department of surveyors and CAD Techs, scheduling fieldwork, office work, and project deliverables. You will establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of projects. This role involves preparing work plans, assembling project teams, delegating tasks, and ensuring compliance with the scope and timely completion. You will be responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and financial performance of assigned projects, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients. Evaluating policy and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient deliverables, performing survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, reviewing title data, researching record drawings, and client relations are key aspects of this position. Collaboration with project team members, including other licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff, is essential. You will also review and process the results of field surveys, verify the accuracy of field survey data, and ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Maintaining firm standards for the preparation of survey and mapping documents, providing technical direction and oversight to survey staff, and assisting field crews with fieldwork as needed are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED. equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of five years of land surveying experience and has earned their LSIT or is qualified to take LSIT exam.
  • Civil 3D, preferred
  • Carlson Civil Suites – IntelliCAD, preferred
  • Office management practices and procedures
  • Client communication and customer service via email, phone, or in-person
  • Project and field crew staff management and evaluation
  • Government, Commercial, Residential and Retail Projects
  • Sokkia, Trimble Total Station, Data Collectors
  • Drone experience, preferred
  • Mathematical Calculations, Measurement Errors
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable record
  • LSIT preferred
  • Must have essential requirements: professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Must have strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must read and interpret field notes, engineering plans, and construction documents.
  • Must perform deed and utility research and compile record information such as record maps, legal descriptions, utility information, and right of way data.
  • Must perform calculations and instructions for fieldwork and construction stakeout.
  • Must provide solutions to civil site design challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional college coursework or apprenticeship is highly desirable.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Acting safely at all times.
  • Maintain firm standards for the preparation of survey and mapping documents.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to survey staff regarding approach and resolution of office/field conflicts.
