About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Land Surveyor Assistant to join our dynamic team in Altamonte Springs, FL. Be involved in our Geomatics Surveying team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Candidate can expect to be a supporting role for work on a wide variety of projects including transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, commercial, residential, solid waste, and energy from rural areas to urban areas.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 0-2+ years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Must possess a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work outside in all climates.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Ability to work out of town as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
• CST Level One certification or higher.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and maintain survey instruments to perform field surveys.
• Be able to operate or learn to operate a total station with data collector, GPS equipment, digital level, conventional level and other kinds of surveying equipment.
• Punctual with a willingness to learn new things.
• Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
