The Land Stewardship Technician position is responsible for conducting land and habitat management activities. The Land Stewardship Technician will be responsible for helping with maintenance, management, and implementation of WES properties managed by the Western Region/Sacramento office. This role does require long workdays and lots of daily driving to various properties throughout the Sacramento Valley with occasional overnight or extended weeklong stays in other regions of the state. No two days are the same in this role. One day you may be operating tractors or other heavy equipment, running and repairing irrigation systems, repairing or building fences, or managing invasive weeds. The next may involve maintenance and repairs on equipment or trailers, managing water through the operation of water control structures and clearing debris from beaver activity, building gates or H braces, or supporting habitat restoration projects. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, and seeing the direct impact of your efforts on the land, this role offers a rewarding and dynamic work environment.
