About The Position

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Land Representative through May 29th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Mountain Time). Responsible for Land duties related to subsurface operations associated with a geographic region. Required to manage associated base operations land activity that includes performing lease maintenance and obligation activities, evaluate and provide lease recommendations for down wells, title curative, clear title for dynamic sub-ops rig schedules, negotiating and drafting complex land agreements, researching courthouse and land records, working with government officials and assisting with land due diligence for acquisitions. Proficient in land systems including QLS. Provide competent land and business guidance to asset teams, key stakeholders, and management to meet business objectives. Effectively provide work directions to field land agents and outside legal counsel. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years related industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Possess strong negotiation and drafting skills; experience recognizing, analyzing, and resolving difficult negotiating situations.
  • Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project related goals.
  • Creative, solutions-oriented thinker.
  • Ability to build and influence both internal and external relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Quorum Land Systems (QLS) experience.
  • Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Energy Commerce, Business, or an advanced degree in Law (J.D.) or MBA from accredited institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the land subject matter expert on cross functional teams.
  • Serve as lead negotiator for leasing projects associated with business plans.
  • Compile, analyze, and communicate land data and concepts.
  • Negotiate and draft various oil and gas agreements (i.e., leases, pooling agreements, operating agreements (JOAs), etc.).
  • Issue title clearances/perform title curative work for rig lines.
  • Effectively provide work direction to field land brokers and outside legal counsel.
  • Advise land support personnel to maintain land records system.
  • Make risk-based business recommendations and clearly articulate value tradeoffs.
