Land Operations Manager

Intersect•Austin, TX
•$221,000 - $260,000

About The Position

As a Land Operations Manager on Intersect's Asset Management team, you will establish the processes, systems, and standards for the newly established Asset Land Management function while managing land lease agreements, landowner relationships, and real property interests after execution. You will carry each agreement’s commercial intent from development through construction and operations, handling lease administration, complex payment calculations, and obligation tracking across a utility-scale clean energy portfolio while designing a scalable operating model. Initially, this is a hands-on working manager role. As the portfolio grows, you will hire, coach, and supervise land analysts. You will partner with Development, Community Engagement, Construction, Legal, Finance, and Operations to keep land commitments compliant, executable, and aligned with long-term operational and financial objectives. The Asset Management team manages the commercial performance of clean energy and data center power infrastructure projects. It serves as an owner-side integrator, translating commercial requirements into an operating model that supports asset reliability and long-run value. This newly built department offers the opportunity to develop foundational tools and workflows alongside colleagues focused on operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6–10+ years of experience in commercial real estate, land management, or lease administration within clean energy or conventional energy infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience administering a large portfolio of utility-scale land leases, including calculating wind royalties, managing construction-period payments, and transitioning assets to operations rent.
  • Proficiency with dedicated land management systems, ERP and payment/invoice platforms, and Google Suite.
  • Ability to use AI tools such as Claude with strong verification practices.
  • Demonstrated commercial judgment in interpreting lease structures, processing stipulations of interest, and mitigating contractual risk.
  • Experience managing or formally mentoring others, or clear readiness to enter people management, with the ability to balance hands-on execution and team-building.
  • Commitment to building durable relationships and scalable processes aligned with Intersect's values of Equity, Humility, Authenticity, Long-run Value, and People Come First.
