About The Position

Prince William County’s Department of Development Services is offering creative, challenging, and rewarding work as a Land Development Project Manager. We are looking for motivated professionals who will take the lead and solve problems. Manage Land Development Site Plan projects. Proactively resolve engineering, ordinance, proffer, and other Code issues. Respond to information requests. Provide input to the update of County Codes and guidance documents. Conduct site visits. Resolve engineering and field issues with Engineers and Site Inspectors. Research projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 6 years of related experience. Related experience is defined as work involving land development approval and/or construction processes, including but not limited to, plan and regulatory review, coordination with developers and /or their representatives, and project management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban planning, or a related field.
  • 3 years of professional experience related to land development tasks, such as the review of site and subdivision plans.
  • 1-2 years of project management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in Land Development regulations and concepts.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings/plans.
  • Knowledge and application of the zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, and Design and Construction Standards Manual (DCSM).
  • Experience interpreting proffers and special conditions, as related to the Land Development process.
  • Experience with independently performing project management for site development projects.
  • Experience utilizing various computer software programs.
